
I decided to make Chicken Karhai for dinner the other day and found out this recipe of Special Brown Chicken Karhai by Chef Zakir. I found it really easy to make and the taste was just awesome. Sharing this recipe with you guys here… do try it out and let me know how it was for you!
What You Will Need Is:
Chicken 1/2 kg (cut in small pieces or you can take boneless meat)
Salt according to taste
Ginger/garlic paste 2 tbsp
Onion 2 cut finely
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Ground black pepper finely done 1 tbsp
Green chilies whole 4 – 5
Coriander leaves cut finely ¼ bunch
Cumin seeds (roasted and crushed) 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds (roasted and crushes) 1 tbsp
Ginger piece 1 medium sized
Yogurt 1/4 cup
Ghee 1/4 cup
What You Will Do Is:
Heat Ghee in a wok and add onion slices. Fry till golden brown.
Now add ginger/garlic paste and stir.
Add chicken pieces and keep frying till its color changes.
Next add roasted coriander, cumin, black pepper powder and yogurt. Cover lid and cook on slow flame for about 15 – 20 minutes.
Remove lid and add whole chilies, coriander leaves and ginger juveniles. Let it simmer for a few minutes at low flame.
Special Brown Chicken Karhai is ready to be served.
Serve hot, with Tandoor or Naan.
